Carbohydrates for Birds!!

There are two forms of carbohydrates, simple and complex. Simple ones are the sugars. They are rapidly digested and absorbed and are not good for your birds if not given in moderation. Fruits are high in sugar and are more natural for your bird as a simple carbohydrate. Complex carbohydrate are the starches. These are great energy sources and serve as building blocks for non-essential amino acids and fats. Good examples are vegetables, beans, millet, oats, and corn. These are also high in fibre and contributes to the balanced diet achieved in the Elite Pet Food mixes.
